Mobi-Air, makers of the Hybrid Air Filtration platform designed specifically for the hygiene industry, has been awarded a Technology Enterprise Commercialisation Scheme (TECS). As part of Singapore’s efforts to develop a new breed of technologically innovative global enterprises, TECS aims to catalyze the formation and growth of such start-ups based on strong technology Intellectual Property and a scalable business model. TECS awards companies funds up to a total of 750,000 SGD (U.S. $547,000) to enhance their R&D developmental and IP capabilities.
 
Martin Scaife, managing director of Mobi-Air, praised the Singaporean authorities for supporting environmentally focused businesses to enhance their R&D capabilities allowing further innovations to be launched within the air filtration sector. “The current hybrid technology has multiple benefits for the end-user including plug and play modular interfaces that marry to the latest hygiene convertor modules whilst operating using minimal energy partly achieved by the hi-surface area of the hybrid filtration process. The hybrid technology also adopts many new innovative features to eliminate all dust within the filter system fully independent of air-flow volumes, meaning a single equipment platform can be used for adult/baby/fem convertors.” 
 
Simon Liew, Mobi-Air manufacturing vice president added: “Significant additional support mechanisms exist in Singapore to scale up with robotic manufacturing producing up to 135 filters per year per shift.  The methodology of such an efficient production system marries well with being located in Singapore with its world-class transportation hubs for both air and sea and historic trading links with our Asian partners as well as the global hygiene industry.”
